1. Silicon dioxide can be used as a lubricant and is an excellent flow promoter. It is mainly used as a lubricant, anti-adhesive agent, and flow aid.
2. It is particularly suitable for the granulation of oil and extract drugs. The granules produced have good fluidity and compressibility. It can also be used as a flow aid in direct tableting.
3. As a disintegrant, it can greatly improve the fluidity of the particles, increase the bulk density, increase the hardness of the tablets, shorten the disintegration time, and increase the drug dissolution rate.
4. It can be used as an internal desiccant in the manufacture of granules to enhance the stability of the drug. It can also be used as a filter aid, clarifier, defoamer, and suspending agent and thickener for liquid preparations.
