Anhydrous citric acid (C6H8O7) is a colorless, semi-transparent crystalline solid or a white, odorless, hygroscopic powder with an intensely sour taste. It exhibits high solubility in water and ethanol. In the food and beverage industry, it functions primarily as an acidulant, pH regulator, flavor enhancer, preservative, and chelating agent. Beyond food applications, it is employed in the chemical, cosmetic, and household cleaning industries as an antioxidant, plasticizer, sequestrant, and surfactant-compatible builder.

Application

1.Food and beverages: used as souring agents, preservatives and antioxidants to improve flavor and extend shelf life; Regulate pH to maintain a stable texture of products such as jellows.
2.Daily chemical and washing: as an environmental cleaning agent to dissolve scale and rust stains; Chelate hard water ions in detergents to enhance detergency; Used in skin care products to adjust pH value and gently exfoliate.
3.Industrial cleaning and electroplating: safe and efficient removal of rust and scale in boilers and pipelines; In the electroplating process as complexing agent and buffer agent, so that the coating uniform bright.
